PRIVATE LAP

(A Closer Look)

Talented…tough…sound. Three words that encompass the racing exploits of this exceptional runner, and there is no reason to doubt that he has the pedigree ingredients to pass these traits on to his progeny.

Bred by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, he was a stakes winner of 16 races in 47 starts, earned $730,546 on the track, and springs from a solid female family that has, over the years, spawned many high class runners worldwide.

The “Conduit Mare Profile” (8-3-3-9-6) created by the female family influences in his pedigree shows solid “Brilliant” influences complimented by excellent numbers in the stamina segments. The profile indicates enough speed to sire runners who may sprint early, with enough stamina to carry that speed a route of ground later in their racing careers. This profile is superb for a stallion as it offers great pedigree balance to compliment a wide variety of mares.

Private Lap's conduit, Celiba, is the portal mare through which such fine runners as Graded Stakes winners, Delilah, Drama, Caumshinaun, and Kings Drama descend, as well as top the European sprinter Faliraki, and Australian Champion Stayer Mukaafah. Epsom Derby and St Leger Stakes winner, Blue Peter, also claims this mare as his conduit.

The closest inbreeding in Private Lap's pedigree is a 4x6 cross of Native Dancer, and a triple contribution of Bold Ruler at 3x6/6. This type of pedigree offers many options for mares from various bloodlines, as there is no Northern Dancer, and only one instance of Mr. Prospector through his classic winning son, Conquistador Cielo.

The presence of Conquistador Cielo presents wonderful opportunities for line breeding to Mr. Prospector (a tactic that has produced over 112 Graded/Group winners over the past 20 years), with many of these winners using Conquistador Cielo as one of the contributors. Some of the Mr. Prospector sons who have crossed well with Conquistador Cielo are, Miswaki, Machiavellian, Seeking the Gold, Gone West, Forty Niner, Gulch, Woodman, and most particularly, Fappiano. All of the aforementioned sires have been crossed with Conquistador Cielo in Graded/Group winning runners.

Private Lap offers an outstanding opportunity for breeders in the Midwest who are seeking a chance to produce top class runners, and coupled with the proven sire, Indy Mood, I don't see a better pair of stallions anywhere in the state.
